Math Work Stations
It's here! It's here! My Math Work Stations book by Debbie Diller finally arrived from Amazon yesterday. I have had my nose in it every second I can (including while I was sitting with my summer school kids playing a Clifford game on the SmartBoard). Tomorrow my plan is to begin to organize my math materials. Her first couple of chapters are devoted to organizing and purging. As someone who has retired teachers for parents, I am fully aware that it is time for me to purge. I have moved classrooms numerous times and have even switched from 3rd grade to Kindergarten. I know I have too much stuff. My basement is the prime example. I have an entire wall of 3rd grade materials that I am just not ready to part with! I'll take pictures and post as I go. Keep your fingers crossed that I can do this!

New Books!
I can not wait for my Amazon shipment to arrive! I ordered the Math Work Stations book from Debbie Diller. I absolutely love her Literacy Work Stations book. It has changed the way that I do centers in my classroom. As I read it and set up my room I will post pictures of my new math stations!
I am also taking a Writer's Workshop course with my teammates. It is based around the Lucy Calkins books. If you have any suggestions for me please feel free to comment! I will be posting beginning the end of August as I progress through the class.

Summer School
Happy 4th of July! Summer school starts the day after. I had a workday this past week to get things ready. Boy was it hard to go in! I'm excited to see my kiddies from this past year, but I'm so not ready to go back. Fortunately, I'm teaching two 1 1/2 hour sessions of math, so the morning will go by very quickly! Any good ideas for activities? We're reviewing money, measurement , addition and subtraction!

Welcome!
I am obsessed with reading Kinder blogs. I have found so many great ideas, but now I feel it is time to add some of my own. I will be posting links from other blogs as well! I hope that I can help at least one person with a new idea for their classroom, and I'm hoping that others will share with me as well!
Happy summer vacation!
